Where do your peanuts come from?
Our high-oleic (read healthy fat) peanuts come from the drylands of the Deccan Plateau. We prefer local variety as opposed to hybrids; rainfed crops as opposed to irrigated ones.

How should I store Zvatra's Peanut Butter, does it need to be refrigerated?
Our peanut butter has a shelf life of 6 months without refrigeration. But, we do recommend that you keep it away from direct sunlight and store it in a cool & dry area. Using a fresh spoon each time gives our peanut butter the extra mileage!

Why is there a layer of oil on my Peanut Butter?
Our peanut butter does not contain any added oil. But, when roasted peanuts are ground in stone rigorously, it is only natural for them to release their oil. This is how cold-pressed oils have been extracted from oil seeds for thousands of years in India.
Most commercial nut butters are hydrogenated fats. During this process, oil released from the seeds are converted into transfats. This gives them a texture like commercial butter. And, this is essentially how Vanaspathi Ghee (Dalda) is made.
We do not add any additives or emulsifiers to our peanut butter and we most definitely do not hydrogenate it
Our sweetened peanut butter has peanuts, jaggery and brown salt and nothing else.
